An Outstanding Diagnostic Aide
Acupuncture is a science-backed, mainstream method for treating pain, inflammation, nausea, immune dysfunction, and soft tissue issues in animals. No longer considered merely an "alternative" treatment, it is widely recognized for its medical benefits.
Certification in veterinary acupuncture enhances your ability to relieve pain, improve outcomes, and refine diagnostic skills.
Your passion for helping animals already sets you apart—now take the next step and offer them even more. Invest in your practice, your patients, and your impact.
Small Animal Veterinary Acupuncture Certification (cEBVAsa)
The Small Animal Veterinary Acupuncture Certification (cEBVAsa) is designed for veterinarians who want to integrate evidence-based acupuncture into their canine and feline practice. The two-level program blends online coursework with in-person lab work that covers neurophysiology, myofascial kinetic chains, channel and point systems, the JAM (Joint-Acupuncture-Motion) exam, case reporting and hands-on anatomy labs. Practical case work is required between levels, so participants develop confidence in structuring and documenting treatments for pain, musculoskeletal and mobility issues, internal medicine and integrative cases.
Equine Veterinary Acupuncture Certification (cEBVAeq)
The Equine Veterinary Acupuncture Certification (cEBVAeq) prepares practitioners for acupuncture in the horse patient. Also delivered across two levels of blended online and in-person instruction, the curriculum teaches neuromodulation, fascial dynamics, channel-based and distal point systems specific to equine anatomy, the JAM exam adapted for horses, and advanced treatment planning using modalities such as electrical stimulation, sound, light, and myofascial release. Upon completion of both small animal and equine tracks, a practitioner earns the full non-limited credential (cEBVA), underscoring mastery across species.
Enrollment Restrictions
The EBVA Certification Courses are exclusively offered to Veterinarians, Veterinary Students, and Veterinary Residents. We’re often asked why enrollment is restricted.
Because our program is grounded in Western medical principles and includes diagnostic components, it requires the clinical knowledge and training held by veterinary professionals. The coursework is rigorous, highly technical, and designed for those with a veterinary background to ensure the highest standard of learning and patient care.
Additionally, most states require a licensed DVM to practice veterinary acupuncture. A few states do allow non-veterinary acupuncture practitioners to work under the direct supervision of a DVM. If you believe you may fall under one of these exceptions, please reach out so we can help determine eligibility.
