Continuing Education for Practicing Veterinary Acupuncturists
Evidence-Based Veterinary Acupuncture (EBVA) offers a flexible, online learning opportunity to veterinarians who have been certified in veterinary acupuncture to deepen their expertise and stay at the forefront of neuroanatomically-based acupuncture.
We also allow non-certified veterinarians with an interest in acupuncture to sign up for the online-only portion in order to learn more about this exciting new skillset before committing to a full accreditation program.
Please note:
- The online-only tracks are not eligible for EBVA certification. Full EBVA accreditation requires participation in both online and in-person components. See in-person course listings.
- For EBVA-certified acupuncturists, these courses count toward the 100 hours of CE required every 10 years to maintain certification.
EBVA Continuing Education courses include:
- The entire online portions of the Small Animal and Equine curriculum levels (e.g. Equine Level One and Two, Small Animal Level One, Two, and Advanced Elective), and
- RACE approved subject specific options, listed below.
Continuing Education Courses
Small Animal & Equine Curriculum
Each level includes 20-24 hours of asynchronous, self-paced, RACE-approved course work designed to advance your clinical knowledge and skills.
- Open to all licensed veterinarians
- Fully online, no in-person labs required
- Access is valid for up to one year from registration
- Advanced, clinically relevant content
- Option to pursue full EBVA certification later
- Completion of the online levels qualifies as IVAS credit for required continuing education
- Tuition is $1,800 per level

RACE Approved Subject Specific Series
Acupuncture Physiology - 6 hours
This series is designed to educate and update acupuncture providers from every training background, and within all stages of acupuncture experience. Whether designing acupuncture treatments from a Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine Lens, or a neuro-anatomic, scientific approach, the fields of complexity science, neurophysiology, fascial and interstitial physiology and the neuro-immune-endocrine network all come together to help guide and refine the acupuncture intervention.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Describe complexity theory and apply this branch of science to the living body
- Understand myofascial kinetic chains, and understand how the dense structural fascial forms corridors for the neurovascular structures as well as interstitial fluid and lymphatic portions of the fluid body
- Recognize how the nervous system is interwoven with the endocrine and immune systems, and how this relates to disease and health
- Anticipate the influence of reflex loops on the motor system as well as complex interactions in internal organs and visceral structures
Neurophysiological Acupuncture for the Equine Foot with Dr. Lancaster – 8.5 hours
This is the ultimate series for equine practitioners from every training background, and within all stages of acupuncture experience. This is a deep dive into the physiology and pathophysiology of laminitis—from subclinical to severe—and navicular syndrome. The farrier communication lectures and comprehensive review of the foot hold conversations both practical and brilliant.
By the end of this session, you will be able to:
- Refresh and deepen your understanding of the structures within the equine foot, and the complex body-wide interactions that contribute to foot health and disease
- Collaborate with, and benefit from the knowledge and training of farriers to optimize equine foot care in disease and health
- Take a deep dive into laminitis research, treatment and future horizons
- Update and expand your knowledge and treatment options for navicular disease, from a logical, neurophysiological perspective.
